Spanish Pianist Mario Prisuelos in Recital

November 4, 2018
02:00 PM until 03:30 PM

For a second time Mario Prisuelos, renowned pianist from Spain who specializes in Chopin and other Romantic composers, will include the Mahwah Library in his U.S. tour. Mario Prisuelos was born in Madrid, where in his early years he began studying at the local conservatory of music. When he was very young he traveled to Vienna where he completed his studies. Recognition followed in the form of an invitation to perform at the Festival of Piano of Feuchtwangen in the acclaimed Musikzauber Franken in Germany, where he was critically recognized for his special talent and strength of communication. Following this success came his debuts in Vienna, Milan, London, and Zagreb. A previous European tour in which he presented the programme “from Bach to Khachaturian” was concluded with a concert in Fundacion Juan March, Madrid and recorded on the Sonoris label. His fame continues from his original programmes including his latest work “Spanish Music for Piano from Baroque to the Present Day,” recorded on the Verso label, and performed during a recent concert tour of Central America. As a pianist he is committed to the compositions of his time, which leads to young modern day composers dedicating works directly to him which he performs during concerts and studio recordings. He has toured extensively in North America, performing in New York’s Carnegie Hall. He has also toured in Asia with venues in China and Japan. The concert is free. No tickets are necessary. Seats are on a “first come” basis.
