The 50th anniversary of John Coltrane's death provides an opportunity for members of the William Paterson University jazz faculty to pay tribute to an iconic, reverend, and innovative jazz musician. Coltrane, who passed away on July 17, 1967, at the age of 40, left a rich musical legacy that will be celebrated by the WP jazz workshop faculty ensemble that includes trumpeter Cecil Bridgewater, saxophonist and Coltrane scholar David Demsey, trombonist Tim Newman, pianist James Weidman, bassist Steve LaSpina, and longtime special guest drummer Winard Harper. This will be an intense and moving night of music!
